Welcome to the London Musici Website. This website is currently undergoing redevelopment and we shall be relaunching our new website later in the year.

2008 will be London Musici’s 20th Anniversary Year. To celebrate this, several programmes are currently in development which will reflect two of the orchestra’s distinguishing features – innovation and collaboration.

A commission from composer Howard Goodall will be performed and recorded with the choir of Christchurch Cathedral, Oxford. Another new orchestral score (composer to be announced) will be commissioned for a unique programme during London FashionWeek, September 2008, in collaboration with a top designer.

Thirdly, an annual showcase will be launched as part of a new Music Scholarships programme across the UK to identify and support exceptionally gifted children, whose parents simply cannot afford the cost of learning an instrument.

As Associate Orchestra of Rambert Dance Company, London Musici will be touring alongisde the company for their 2007/8 Autumn Tour. London Musici will be performing to packed houses once again for the thirteenth consecutive year in an artistic partnership which remains unique internationally.

London Musici probably plays to more non-concert goers, from amongst Rambert’s 50,000 attendees annually, than any other orchestra. This has consolidated its position since its inception in 1988 as an orchestra with a mission to broaden the appeal of classical music, particularly to the young, a burning issue for orchestras the world over.
